Tabor Village III
Summer Day Camp

August 1 - 20, 2001
Presov, Slovakia

The town of PipsYork was built by a group of Slovak children in Prešov, a small city in Eastern Slovakia.  Thanks to the determined work of Tana Vahovská, The Village Project's coordinator in Slovakia, we had an entire school building at our disposal and the campers were able to establish their peep village in a pleasant location in the courtyard, under the shade of a tree.  PipsYork quickly grew into a thriving commercial and entertainment center, with a zoo, all-day-long bungee jumping, a developed hedgehog industry, and its own newspaper.  Pips York was a beautiful, flourishing place and soon welcomed a neighboring village that was being built by teachers learning the Village program in the same building (see Village Teacher Seminar, August 2001).
