Vistula's Government
Vistulans pioneered a new form of representative government. The town was run by an elected Town Peep (also known as the T.P.), who was charged with resolving disputes between peeps. The TP could also call on the Town Committee for assistance in mediating problems and in making decisions about the town. If problems or questions were important enough, the TP and the Town Committee could call a town meeting and all residents would discuss and vote on the matter. Jemina, a young peep from Jamaica, was elected Town Peep. Assisting her as Vice-Town Peep was Mike, the first child we know of who was elected a peep. Maddie, Emmie and Benny served as representatives.

Vistula's figurehead leader, King Couch Potato
King Couch Potato was elected Vistula's figurehead leader, a position with no powers other than the right to name other peeps to the royal family. According to Vistula law if Couch Potato (known to his friends as Cow) was elected to any governmental position he would have to cease using his royal title for the duration of his public service.
